What is an async AI interview?

An async AI interview is a recorded interview conducted by AI instead of a scheduled call: the candidate opens a link whenever they're ready, the AI asks questions aloud and adapts to the answers, and every response is transcribed and scored against the role's rubric for consistent comparison.

Set it up once

An interview set is a reusable template: duration, allowed languages, weighted evaluation criteria, pre-screening questions, an AI-asked CV-question budget, and your scripted main questions — each with its own AI priority. Build it once, link it to any number of roles, and every candidate gets the same interview, scored the same way.

How do async AI interviews work?

You define the questions once; candidates receive a link and interview whenever they're ready — no scheduling. The AI asks each question aloud, listens, and follows up adaptively on what the candidate actually says. Answers are recorded, transcribed, and scored 0–10 per criterion with a written justification.

Can the AI ask follow-up questions?

Yes. The AI interviewer cross-questions adaptively: it probes deeper based on the candidate’s actual answer rather than reading a fixed script, and it can ask questions grounded in the candidate’s CV. Interviews stay comparable across candidates while still reacting to each individual conversation.

The candidate side

Candidates get a branded invitation, choose their interview language, can take a free practice walkthrough first, answer your pre-screening questions, upload their CV, and then complete the recorded interview at their own pace — with questions narrated aloud and answers spoken, not typed. Do candidates need to schedule anything?

No. The interview link works whenever the candidate is ready — evening, weekend, any timezone. That’s how one recruiter screens hundreds of applicants in days: the interviews run in parallel on candidates’ own time instead of serially on your calendar.

What languages are supported?

You choose the allowed languages per interview set, and candidates pick theirs before starting — from dozens of language and locale options. The AI conducts the interview in the candidate’s language while scoring stays consistent against the same rubric for every candidate.

Integrity, with consent first

Candidates explicitly consent before anything is recorded — conditions up front, separate checkboxes for the conditions and the recording. During the interview, the session is monitored: tab switches, extended absence from camera, and AI-generated answers can be detected and surfaced to you as integrity signals on the report. You see flags and decide what they mean; nothing auto-rejects a candidate.

What you get

Every completed interview lands as a scored submission: 0–10 overall with a narrative summary that cites evidence, the per-criterion rubric breakdown with justifications, Strengths / Gaps / Recommendations, the full timestamped transcript, and audio/video playback. It feeds the candidate’s Fit Score and ranks them in your pipeline.

Frequently asked questions

How does the AI interview work?
You pick the questions once; the AI conducts every interview asynchronously. Candidates open a link, answer by voice on their own time, and the AI asks adaptive follow-ups based on what they say. Every response is transcribed, scored against your rubric, and recorded for your review.
What if a candidate abandons an interview midway?
The submission stays in a started state and partial responses are retained. Depending on how much signal exists, the evaluation may score what's there or return "Cannot evaluate" — it never fabricates a complete score from an incomplete interview.
Can candidates practice first?
Yes. A free walkthrough shows the interview flow and interface before anything is graded, so candidates aren't penalized for unfamiliar tools. Optional paid practice with real scoring exists too — and you can disable candidate offers entirely for your interviews.
How long can interviews be?
You set the duration per interview set — for example 20 or 30 minutes — and candidates see the length and a live timer up front. Questions carry per-question priority, so the AI spends time where it matters most for the role.
